The Global Observatory of Higher Education Changes (GOHEC) proudly hosts its Annual Meeting 2025 at the renowned Politecnico di Milano. This two-day gathering brought together leading scholars, researchers, and project partners to reflect on transformative shifts in global higher education and shape the Observatory’s strategic direction for the coming years.

  • Launch and discussion of the special issue “How Higher Education Has Changed in 2024?”
  • Insights from international networks and pioneering projects such as Future-AP, AI in Higher Education, EHESO and Women in Higher Education Management (WHEM)
  • Collaborative workshops on data collection methodologies and research infrastructure

  • Discussing results from the survey Shaping the Future of Higher Education Research: Insights from Researchers
  • A forward-looking roadmap session to define priorities for the next 3–4 years, including potential partnerships, funding opportunities, and thematic research clusters

The inaugural event of the Global Observatory of Higher Education Changes (GOHEC) marks the beginning of a collaborative journey among higher education institutions, researchers, and policy experts. Participants will engage in discussions on pressing topics, including policy reforms, higher education equity, and innovation in research practices. The event also seeks to identify joint funding opportunities and develop a roadmap for publishing and data-sharing efforts.
